SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Super Worms will run on just about any PC, all you need is:
- 386 processor or higher (486 or Pentium recommended)
- VGA graphics card
Also supported if available:
- Sound card (Adlib or MPU)
- Joystick(s)
STARTING SUPER WORMS
To play Super Worms, start SW.EXE. If you don't get sound, you can try
one of the following command line options:
SW /S - Use PC speaker sound
SW /A - Set Adlib/Soundblaster sound as default
SW /M - Set MPU (MIDI) sound as default
OPTIONS
Super Worms has the following options, which can be chosen from the main
menu:
Grand Prix: Race against the AI controlled computer opponents on
five different tracks (five laps each). You may not be
the last to finish any of the tracks, or you will have
to try again.
Practice: Practice racing on a track and try to set new time
records.
Match: A race for two players on any track (five laps).
Knock-Out: Combination of Match and Battle game, win by either
being the first to reach the finish or by hitting your
opponent using the available items (only available in
the registered version).
Battle Game: Fight between two players: use the items to hit your
opponent three times to win.
CONTROLS
All menus are controlled with the [Up] and [Down] arrow keys. Use [Space]
or [Enter] to select an option. You can always use [Esc] to go back or
quit the game.
If you have any joysticks, go to OPTIONS, CONTROLS to set them up.
Controls for player 1:
Left - [Left arrow]
Right - [Right arrow]
Accelerate - [Up arrow]
Brake - [Down arrow]
Fire - [Ins]
Controls for player 2:
Left - S
Right - F
Accelerate - E
Brake - C
Fire - [Space]
If player 1 uses a joystick, then the key sets above are reversed, so
that player 2 uses the arrow keys.
Other keys during the game:
[P] - Pause game
[F2] - Change ground detail level
[F3] - Change camera view point (one player only)
[F4] - Sound on/off
[F5/F6] - Music volume (lower/higher)
[F7/F8] - Sound FX volume (lower/higher)
[F9] - Turn VSync on/off
[Shift-Esc] - Restart track (Grand Prix only)
[Esc] - Quit game
ITEMS
Whenever you drive through a white balloon, you receive one of the
following items:
BOMB
Place this bomb on the ground behind you to slow down other
players.
MINI TRAMPOLINE
Put the blue mini trampoline on the road in front of you to make
a jump.
SPEED BLOCK
Place the yellow speed block on the ground and touch it to get
extra speed.
RED BOTTLE
The red bottle will make you invincible for some time. You can
stop other players by bumping into them.
BLUE BOTTLE
The blue bottle will make you invisible for other players. When
you are invisible, you can grab items from other players by
touching them.
PURPLE BALLS
Throw these balls to stop another player. Purple balls keep
rolling around, until they hit someone.
ORANGE BALL
This orange ball will follow the player in front of you, but
cannot bounce against walls.
The following items are only available in the registered version of Super
Worms:
BALLOON
Put the white balloon down anywhere, so that everyone can get
items at that place.
GREEN MAT
Put the sticky green mat on the ground behind you to slow down
other players.
BLACK BOUNCING BOMB
This bouncing bomb will start moving slowly towards the player in
front of you when close enough.
SEGMENTS
Get a lost segment back by putting it down and touching it
(Knock-out and Battle game only).
